Direct coupled (dc) bare shaft series pumps for heavy duty applications

Design Features
Important note: Each build is application specific and assembly variations in Design, Construction & Materials are available. This web brochure indicates only one type of configuration.
Overview of Design
In general these pump units are designed utilising heavier material sections than standard or ISO type pumps.
General Components
Spheroidal Graphite Iron (SG) complying within AS 1831 400MPa Tensile with 12% Elongation is utilised for cast pump components ( casing, intermediate cover, impeller ). The main advantages for using this material are a) excellent machining properties, b) wears better than cast iron and can sustain heavy operational use.
Stainless Steel complying with AS2837- 431 or UNS S31803 grade up to 1100Mpa Tensile is used for shafts because of its high strength and corrosion resistance properties compared with AS2837-316 grade Stainless Steel which is mainly used on basic grade pumps.
Ancillary Components
All Gaskets and Seals utilised on assembly are manufactured from proven long life materials.
The Ball Bearings fitted to the rotating element are long life heavy duty with normal or C3 class internal clearances which can be supplied in a) grease lubricated b) oil feed or c) sealed for life assemblies.
All Fasteners are manufactured from AISI-316 approx 4.6 grade Stainless Steel primarily for corrosion resistance.
Mechanical seals are to DIN 24960 and are rubber bellows type with hard faced seats. Alternate sealing options available.
For client confidence our design, production, quality assurance and control services are all managed from our head office and manufacturing facility. In support of this our service department offers technical backup, installation, maintenance and spare parts for the operational life of the product.
